Valentina "Aria" Cruz #123
Stroll Chair
Valentina is a Third Year Student from Romeoville, Illinois. She is a Public Relations/ Advertising major with two minors in Sports Communication and Latin American Studies. Public Relations, as defined by PRSA, is a strategic communication process that builds mutually beneficial relationships between organizations and their public’s. Valentina hopes to pursue Public Relations in sports, specifically women’s sports and eventually earn a Masters degree. Her interest of sports grew from playing soccer at the age of 12. “Without SLG I would have learned professionalism at a slower pace. SLG has allowed me to make endless connections with professionals in and outside of my field. I am grateful to this organization because it has shown me to break out of a shell I didn’t know I was in. Not to mention the relationships I have fostered with my own chapter, alumni, and other sisters/siblings across the U.S. Also, I encourage everyone to watch Women’s sports!”

Carol “Aida” Perez #127
Social Interaction Chair
Carol is third year student from Carmel, Indiana. She is currently pursuing a bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences (Pre-medical concentration). Her studies focus on the internal health of individuals as well as the general public health of all. Her post-college plans include attending medical school to be able to treat patients in a hospital setting and be able to volunteer at local clinics in lower income communities to offer free health treatment. “Surrounding myself with women who have gone through very similar life experiences and are working diligently to pursue a career in their field of interest pushes me to become my better self to reach my full potential of working hard to get what I want. The community is very encouraging and supporting that has me looking forward to being involved in the organization for the rest of my life!”

Yailen is a Second Year student from Chicago, Illinois, majoring in Marketing. She is passionate about understanding consumer behavior and developing creative strategies to build strong brand identities. Yailen hopes to use her marketing expertise to help businesses thrive in a rapidly changing digital landscape. In the future, she aims to pursue a career in brand management or digital marketing.I chose Sigma Lambda Gamma because of its multicultural foundation and the lifelong sisterhood it fosters. The organization’s commitment to empowering women aligns with my personal goals. While in my search for an organization that was right for me, interacting with active members confirmed to me that Sigma Lambda Gamma provides a safe, empowering space. I’m grateful to call myself a Gamma and to be surrounded by incredible women I can call my sisters.

Manuela is a third-year student from Michigan, majoring in User Experience Design, a field she loves as it combines her passion for design and technology. She joined SLG (Sigma Lambda Gamma) because she wanted to meet like-minded women who are interested in personal development. Manuela appreciates that SLG is a multicultural sorority, as it allows her to connect with women from diverse backgrounds and cultures, enriching her college experience. She values the opportunities SLG offers for leadership, networking, and personal growth, and enjoys the strong sense of sisterhood and support that comes from being part of such an inclusive organization. In her spare time, Manuela enjoys working on personal design projects, listening to music and hanging out with her sisters!
